How LOQR increases User Experience by enhancing Face Match accuracy?

What is Face Match? 

Face Match is a key feature in KYC and Identity Verification stages based on face recognition technology. Using AI, this solution can compare the photo taken during the digital account opening journey, for example, with the photo on the user’s ID document. By performing data analysis of a person’s face, which happens by analysing their biometric information, it is verified if there is a similarity in the facial features, and thus it is possible to determine whether it is the same person. 

Face Match is therefore a technology that contributes greatly to making the identity verification process more secure and accurate in LOQR journeys. This way, LOQR’s Platform improved how Face Match Liveness is validated, resulting in a better experience for all users.  

With Face Match detection, verifications are performed by automated systems that use Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to identify if the person in the photo/video is real and alive. 

What are the main advantages of this improvement to our clients? 

Previously, at the time the Face Match occurred on our journeys, the process was immediately rejected when there was an intervention of some external factor which could simply indicate that the conditions for the validation were not met. For example, the lack of contrast between the person’s face and the background, the existence of light reflection, among others. 

With the new developments made on LOQR’s Platform, mechanisms were added to perform multiple validations, allowing to discard failures caused by those external factors, ensuring security standards and without affecting the probability of accepting incorrect or forged images taken during the Face Match (False Acceptance Rate – FAR).
