We’re thrilled to share that LOQR is now LINCE qualified.

In this Digital Age, protecting personal information and preventing identity theft should be a priority in any organisation, as data breaches and the number of bank fraud attempts have been increasing.

In 2023, nearly 0.60 million cases of identity theft were registered worldwide. These numbers only reinforce the importance of this qualification for our company, which has always considered security and its best practices as a top priority.

In our company, we work proactively to guarantee that security takes centre-stage in the development of LOQR’s Platform, protecting our client’s data and ensuring secure identity verifications.

With the LINCE qualification, our Platform guarantees greater reliability in verifying identities remotely, reducing the risk of identity fraud for our clients.

What is LINCE?

LINCE is a biometric-based identity verification qualification that evaluates and certifies Information and Communication Technology (ICT) products, developed by the Spain’s National Cryptologic Centre (CCN).

This qualification process requires an evaluation laboratory to verify whether the product complies with its specification, assessing the effectiveness of the security functions implemented. This way, LINCE qualifies products for inclusion in the IT security product catalogues of Spain’s public administration and CCN. The catalogue includes the list of ICT security products recommended by CCN, to be used by the Administration in the protection of its IT assets.

Aiming to be a reference for the Spanish private sector (especially in areas where there is a greater risk and need for security) and the companies that provide services to it, all the products listed have been evaluated under cybersecurity certification systems to ensure that they meet the highest security standards.

Furthermore, since public services in Spain are obliged to use software listed in the official catalogue, by obtaining the LINCE qualification, we are able to provide certified security features that are suitable for use in programmes that comply with the Spanish National Security System. However, this certification not only guarantees compliance with the Spanish regulations, but also offers an additional level of confidence to organisations in other countries wishing to ensure the security of digital identities, something that other software without this qualification cannot provide.

eIDAS Regulation

The eIDAS Regulation establishes the framework to ensure that electronic interactions are safer, faster and more efficient, regardless of the European country they take place in. This way, the financial services sector is one of the major beneficiaries of electronic identification and trust services as they enable significant business opportunities, improved services and customer satisfaction across borders. By enabling a reliable verification of a customer’s identity in compliance with KYC and AML requirements, it facilitates the process of opening a new bank account and even allows the use of eSignatures to remotely sign financial service contracts with customers, bearing in mind that a Qualified Electronic Signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.

In the context of the eIDAS Regulation, the LINCE qualification can help fulfil the high security requirements demanded to access online services. With the high level of confidence in identity verification that the LINCE qualification offers, organisations operating under eIDAS can offer more robust solutions that comply with European standards, enabling the secure use of digital services throughout the European Union.

What are the main benefits of LINCE qualification?

Holding the LINCE qualification offers significant benefits, especially because it is aligned with identity verification best practices, which also increases LOQR’s resilience and reliability, as well as the security of our Platform.

We can help institutions expand their customer baseline by providing a trusted customer identification process through stronger identity checks. Our Platform makes it possible to deliver better solutions with simplified journeys and to verify customer’s identity using video biometrics, including face match and liveness detection. Opening a digital bank account, updating customer data and even signing documents digitally is now easier and safer. Without the need to perform an assisted video interview, the validation, authentication and signature process becomes simpler, making our solution even faster and more convenient.

Our clients can now also easily prove to regulators and auditors that LOQR’s Platform has been verified and tested by independent organisations, providing the highest security guarantee for remote identity verification, protecting against the various risks related to identity theft.

Additionally, LINCE qualification allows a secure exchange of sensitive information; helps organisations to comply with applicable regulations (KYC and AML) and minimises risk exposure.

What does the LINCE qualification mean for LOQR?

This is a great milestone for LOQR, as it reinforces one of our core priorities, which is to protect our data, and the information entrusted to us.
Working with financial institutions means handling sensitive information on a daily basis, so it is essential to ensure information security, in compliance with applicable regulations and clients’ security expectations. The LINCE qualification allows us to guarantee the highest security standards regarding identity verification and improves risk management and safety in every process, helping us to strengthen our clients’ trust.

Besides that, navigating into a demanding financial ecosystem, LOQR is totally focused on being a step ahead regarding our Platform evolution. We strive to improve daily, and our Platform follows that same ideology.
With LINCE qualification, several identity verification changes are being successfully implemented, offering the strongest solution that leads the way towards secure identities, making LOQR a key player.
