Ricardo Costa, Founder & CEO of LOQR, was one of the 10 finalists in the second edition of the João Vasconcelos Award – Entrepreneur of the Year 2020 from Startup Lisboa.

This award aims to honor the legacy of João Vasconcelos, the first Executive Director of Startup Lisboa and former Secretary of State for Industry, and to support entrepreneurs who stood out for their performance in the creation or expansion phase of their business and who contribute to an ecosystem each more mature.

The 10 finalists were selected based on five evaluation criteria: vision and strategy, resilience, contribution to the national entrepreneurial ecosystem, leadership and team management, growth, and international penetration.

For LOQR this nomination is a source of pride and represents recognition for the work done by Ricardo, in particular, but also by a team of almost 50 people.

A month after we celebrated our fifth anniversary, this pitch had a special meaning, not only because of the tribute to João Vasconcelos, but also because it brought together a group of entrepreneurs who, more than presenting their projects, spoke of their purposes, about what moves they, and how much you need to test, believe and innovate!

Congratulations to the winner, André Jordão from Barkyn, all the finalists, the jury, and Startup Lisboa!

“For us more than the metrics or the prizes that honor us very much and that prove that we are on the right path, we are focused on the impact that we have on society and on the daily lives of all those who are users of our Platform, even though they may not be aware of it.

Having this notion, particularly in a year like 2020 when digital relationships were not an option, makes us believe that our mission is relevant and that our purpose is real! ”
